TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
Polyblock Membrane
Achieve superior sound isolation with our high-performance Silence Acoustic Polyblock Membrane. This premier Soundproof Membrane is a flexible, high-density Acoustic Barrier Membrane engineered from premium Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) to effectively block airborne noise. Supplied as a convenient MLV Roll, this powerful Sound Insulation Membrane adds significant mass to any structure without adding bulk, making it the ultimate Noise Barrier Membrane For Walls. It is also a top choice as a Soundproofing Membrane For Ceilings and serves as an effective Vibration Damping Membrane, reducing structural noise transfer for complete silence and privacy.
KEY FEATURES
High-Density Mass Loaded Vinyl: Made from premium Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV), our membrane is engineered to add maximum mass in a minimal thickness for superior sound blocking.
Exceptional Acoustic Barrier: Acts as a powerful Acoustic Barrier Membrane, creating a sound-isolating layer that significantly reduces noise transmission between rooms.
Versatile Application: The ideal Noise Barrier Membrane For Walls and a highly effective Soundproofing Membrane For Ceilings in both new construction and renovation projects.
Reduces Structural Vibration: Functions as a Vibration Damping Membrane, decoupling structures to stop the transfer of sound energy through floors, walls, and ceilings.
Convenient MLV Roll Format: Supplied as a flexible MLV Roll, making it easy to handle, cut, and install over large surface areas with minimal seams.
Ultimate Sound Insulation: As a leading Sound Insulation Membrane, the Polyblock Membrane is the professional’s choice for creating quiet, peaceful environments in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Installation Method
Prepare the Surface
- Clean the surface thoroughly – remove dust, grease, loose paint, or debris.
- Ensure the surface is dry and smooth. Fill small cracks or uneven areas for better adhesion.
Measure and Cut the Membrane
- Measure the area to be covered (wall, floor, or ceiling).
- Cut the MLV rubber membrane to size using a utility knife.
- Leave a slight overlap (1–2 cm) if multiple sheets are used.
Apply Synthetic Rubber Adhesive (If Using Adhesive Installation)
- Apply construction Synthetic Rubber adhesive to the back of the membrane in vertical or horizontal lines.
- Press the membrane firmly onto the wall/floor/ceiling.
- Use a roller or hand pressure to ensure full contact and remove air pockets.
Optional Mechanical Fixing
- For extra stability, especially on walls or ceilings, you can secure the membrane with screws or nails with washers along the edges.
- Space fasteners every 40–50 cm for proper support.
Seal Seams and Edges
- Use acoustic tape or sealant to seal overlaps and edges.
- Ensure no gaps remain where sound could leak.
Finishing
- Once installed, you can cover the membrane with drywall, panels, or other decorative finishes.
- Inspect for wrinkles, gaps, or loose sections and press/secure them as needed.
