Overview
Acoustic Ceiling Baffles
PET panels hung on edge in rows. They present far more absorbing area per square metre of ceiling than a flat cloud does, which is what a gym or a warehouse-style office needs.
Baffles earn their place in high-volume rooms. Sound in a tall space travels a long way before it meets anything soft, and a vertical fin catches it from both sides on the way past.
Running the rows perpendicular to the long axis of the room breaks up the flutter that develops between parallel end walls.
Spacing is the variable that matters most. Tight rows absorb more but cost more and block more light; we set the spacing against a target reverberation time rather than a look.
