Acoustic Panels
Acoustic Polyester Panel
PET felt board for walls and ceilings
Overview
Acoustic Polyester Panel
A dense polyester fibre board that absorbs mid and high frequencies across a wide band. It is the panel we specify most often, because it does the acoustic work without asking for a specialist installer.
Engineered from 100% polyester fibre and made from recycled PET, the board has no loose fibre and no formaldehyde. It can be cut, routed and handled on site without protective gear, which matters when the ceiling contractor is fitting it at eleven at night before a Monday handover.
The 12 mm board reaches an NRC of up to 0.85 against up to 0.6 for the 9 mm. If the budget allows only one upgrade on a project, going from 9 to 12 mm is usually the one that pays.
Fixed with synthetic rubber adhesive applied in dots or beads at 25–30 mm spacing and pressed firmly to a plastered wall, or screwed to a batten frame. Where an air gap is possible, leave a cavity behind the board — it lifts low-frequency absorption at no extra material cost.
