Overview
Polysynth Wool
Polyester insulation supplied in 15 metre rolls for filling stud walls, ceiling voids and the cavity behind panels. It replaces glass and mineral wool without the fibre.
A partition wall that is only plasterboard on both sides is largely hollow, and a hollow cavity resonates. Filling it damps that resonance and adds several points of sound reduction for very little money — it is the highest-value item in most soundproofing budgets.
Polyester rather than mineral means no gloves, no mask and no complaints from the site team, which in practice means it actually gets installed properly rather than stuffed in loose. It is 90% recycled content.
Tested to IS 8225, ISO 354 and ASTM 423C for absorption, IS 3346-1980 for thermal conductivity and ASTM D 635 for fire retardancy. Ask us for the reports if your specification needs them on file.
